Our Mission Statement
Feline Rescue of Staten Island is a non-profit; no kill animal rescue organization founded by Joann Caro in January 2000.
Throughout its history, this 501c3 has fought tirelessly to save the lives of New York City homeless pets.
Over 14 years of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals.
FRSI continues to carry out its mission over 14 years of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals slated for euthanasia. Feline Rescue’s primary goal is to increase the number of adoptions through our highly effective rescue and rehabilitation programs and thereby, reducing the number of animals euthanized from the city shelters.
FRSI will continue to identify animals in NYC shelters most in need and provide medical care and a safe haven until a new, loving and responsible home is found.
FRSI has been support for many projects over the years including TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return), disaster relief (Hurricane Sandy) and transports from local to long distance for many animal rescue organizations.
